Talitha de Klerk sold a precious personal item to pay for the first studio floor. That's not a metaphor. She didn't have the money. The dream came first.
Thirteen years later, Rhythm of Hope Dance is a faith-led movement running 30+ classes across 6 Pretoria locations and funding a registered NPO that takes the same classes into schools where children couldn't otherwise afford them.
Talitha is an ISTD Cecchetti & DASA Ballet & Contemporary Registered Teacher and a former member of the Youth Dance Company of Tshwane, a pre-professional youth ballet in Pretoria, that existed from 2000-2024.
She knows what serious training looks like. She also knows what it does to a child who is told through the curriculum, through the teachers, through every class, that she belongs here.

Every class at Rhythm of Hope, from Hopeful Hoppers to Advanced Ballet runs the Identity Curriculum alongside the dance syllabus.
Not instead of technique. Alongside it.
Each term, students work through a specific identity value rooted in who Christ says they are. I am brave. I am capable. I am worthy of this room. Not as affirmations pasted on a wall but as truth woven into every warm-up, every correction, every moment when a child wants to give up.
Our general posture is one of worship and prayer… Not as a ritual but as a posture; a reminder that what happens in this room matters beyond.
